Enric Lluch (Algemesí, 1949), a writer and teacher with primary and early secondary education at the Piarist school in Algemesí, and advanced secondary and pre-university studies at the José de Ribera secondary school in Xàtiva, studied History at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the University of Valencia, after which he was a teacher for more than thirty years.

He has published more than a hundred books for young people and children, for which he has received many awards and accolades. His titles include Potosnàguel (1991), El rei Panxut redola i el rei Primal s’envola (1992, winner of the Samaruc Prize), L’àngel Propulsat i el dimoni Emplomat (1997, winner of the 1996 Vicent Silvestre Prize), Eugeni, un geni mal geni (1997, winner of the 1998 Samaruc Prize), La Germanor del Camí (2007, winner of the 2006 Enric Valor Prize for Literature for Young People), Temps de conquista (2007, winner of the Far de Cullera Prize for the Historical Novel), El servidor de l'alquimista (2008, winner of the 2007 Ciutat de Torrent Prize for Young People’s Literature), Els xiquets de la gorra (2013, winner of the Carmesina Prize for Children’s Literature), and Les mares de Valèria (2020, winner of the 2019 Meliana Prize for Children’s Literature). He has also published the novels Després del silenci (2010, winner of an award in the Ciutat de Sagunt Literary Prizes), El mundial de la Patagònia (2018, winner of the Ciutat de Carlet Prize for Literature), and Negocis d’art i de guerra (2021, winner of the 2020 Vila de Benissa “25 April” Short Story Prize).

In addition to literary prizes, he has received other awards including the K-lidoscopi (Cullera), the Porrot d’Honor de la Ciutat (Silla), and Guardó d’Honor de la Ciutat (Algemesí).

He is an honorary member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
