Rosa Mª Serra Reixach was born in Barcelona on 30 September 1962. She has degrees in Hispanic Philology (Spanish Literature), Philosophy and Education Sciences (Philosophy) and History of Art besides having completed several training courses at the Col·legi de Doctors i Llicenciats de Catalunya (College of Doctorate and Degree Holders of Catalonia) and obtaining the most advanced Catalan language certificates of the Junta Permanent de Català (Catalan Language Board). She is presently completing a course in German at the Official Language School at L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
She has been working as a secondary school teacher for fifteen years in different parts of Catalonia, during which time she has also been engaged in creative writing.
She has published three novels, Sense format (Without Format, Cossetània, Valls, 2001), Cartes a Adrià (Letters to Adrià, Solsona Comunicacions, Manresa, 2001), Raons d'Estat (Reasons of State, Òmicron, Badalona, 2007), and has written five other novels and two essays that are not published: Sota la meva pell (Under My Skin), Amors làbils (Labile Loves), El joc de les nines russes (The Russian Dolls Game), Quan els somnis es fan realitat (When Dreams Come True), a novel for young people, Memorias de una psiquiatra (Memoirs of a Psychiatrist), and the studies El cinema a Ripoll (Cinema in Ripoll) and El teatre al Berguedà (Theatre in the Berguedà Region).
She is a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
