Joan Manuel Pérez i Pinya (Palma, 1963 - 2022), a philologist, teacher, and poet, taught Catalan language in secondary schools as well as engaging in literary criticism, and studying poetry and making it known.

He received the City of Palma Prize for Poetry with his Atletes de la fuga (2019), a compendium covering of more than thirty years of his poetry, as well as publishing Fauna mutilada (2022), and writing the (still unpublished) collection Desvaris.

He was a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers – AELC).
