Pasqual Mas i Usó

Pasqual Mas i Usó (Almassora, 1961) is a writer and philology doctor. From 1999 to 2011 he was Director of the international theatre review Fiestacultura, and he is professor of Spanish, Director of the creatives writing courses of the Universitat Jaume I and professor of Street performances at the Cultural Management Master's Degree of the Universitat de València.

He is also a press columnist in El Punt Avui, Araomai, Heraldo de Castellón and he is a contributor for reviews such as Lletres Valencianes, El Temps or L'Aljamia.

Pasqual Mas has written about twenty books about the Valencian baroque and Literature in general which have been published in the USA, France, Germany and Spain. In the literature field he has published books of poems and theatre, but above all he is a prominent novelist with such novels like Salt en fals (1997), Pavana per a un home sense nom (awarded the Ciutat de Sagunt prize, 1999), La cara oculta de la lluna (awarded the Enric Valor prize, 2000), Diva (2005), Metròpoli (2012), Tombatossals segle XXI (2014) or Un miracle sense importància (awarded the Ciutat de Carlet prize, 2016), among others.

Pasqual Mas is a member of Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers, AELC).
