At eighteen years he saw his first Children's and Tennager's book published, Tot serà pres (1986), a realist novel dealing with the question of euthanasia, which became his most successful work with over thirty reimpressions. His subsequent work has been more in the genre of fantastic literature, or a combination of fantasy and reality. One should highlight titles such as L'ombra del Stuka (1998), awarded the Premi Crítica Serra d'Or in 1999 and the Premi de la Institució de les Lletres Catalanes in 2000; La tripulació del pànic (2004), Premi Edebé Juvenil in 2004; El misteri de les quatre punyalades (2005), awarded with the Premi Columna Jove in 2005, and L'illa de la pedra inquieta (2009), awarded with the White Ravens from Munich in 2010, amongst many others. His translations have been included in the IBBY Honour List twice (2006 and 2008) and the Premi Crítica Serra d'Or for translation of novels in 2008. Some of his work has been translated into Basque, Galician and Spanish.

As a poet he has published the compilations Si nego el bosc… (1986), Joc de daus (1988) and Camarades grecs (1992). He currently combines his literary work with that of Translator (from Basque, French, Galician and Spanish) as well as other jobs related to literature.

He is a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana.
