Josep Heras Aledo (Barcelona, 26 December 1949), a writer specialising in the history of Buddhism, has degrees in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Barcelona, and master’s degrees from the Deusto (Bilbao) and Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) universities. He has spent a good part of his professional life working in the domain of finance, especially in the areas of training and professional development. Since 2010 he has been studying the history of Buddhism and travelling in Asian countries to learn more about the subject in places where the traditions of Buddhism are kept alive. He writes historical novels, travel literature, and essays, and also paints.
He is an honorary member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
