Maria Enrich (Igualada, 1957) was fortunate enough to attend the Mowgli School of progressive education where, amongst the many things taught there, she learned the pleasures of creativity and fantasy. She spent her youth surrounded by books, travelling and studying. At the Autonomous University of Barcelona she studied Teaching and Catalan Philology and, after early experiences of primary and adult teaching, she went to the Pere Vives secondary school where she taught Catalan Language and Literature for 18 years. Apart from teaching, she allowed her passion for literature to mature over these years. She has three daughters who have directed this passion into children's and young people's literature. She is presently engaged in writing and programming cultural activities.
She is a member of AELC (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
