Pura Peris i Garcia (València, 1964), who holds a PhD in Law, is a tenured lecturer in Finance and Tax Law at the University of Valencia and a poet.

She has published the collections Tasts de vida (Germania, 2014), Alè de lluna (Neopàtria, 2015), and A frec de pell (Neopàtria, 2018) and, thanks to the help of teacher and sworn translator, Javier Soria, some of her collections have appeared in Catalan and English bilingual editions. In 2024, she edited the poetry collection Lingua Mater (Galés Edicions), an anthology of works about love for the mother tongue by women poets of the Mediterranean, among them twelve poets from Catalonia, Valencia, and the Balearic Islands.

Throughout her life and in keeping with her political and literary interests, she is a member of several cultural and literary associations, among them, in 2012 the poetic and cultural association, "Jam poètica de l'Eliana" of which she became president in 2016.

She has received several literary awards for her work, both fiction and poetry, including the Finalist Award of the Twenty-First October Prize for Literary Creation in Valencia (2013) and also of the Twenty-Third October Prize for Literary Creation in Valencia (2015).

Peris combines her love for literature with a life's work devoted to social, political, and cultural commitments, while always remaining true to her poetic voice and the struggle for her country, the freedom of peoples, and social justice.

She is general secretary and co-spokesperson of Los Verdes, a state-wide federation of ecologist parties in Spain's autonomous regions.

She is a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
