Víctor Mora (Barcelona, 1931-2016) is a novelist, comic-strip writer, publications director, publishing consultant and author of many articles. He is the creator of "Capitán Trueno" (Captain Thunder) and many other characters and is both one of the most prolific scriptwriters while also being amongst the Catalan writers who have best portrayed the atmosphere during the Franco dictatorship and the resistance to it. The three books forming the trilogy Els plàtans de Barcelona (The Plane Trees of Barcelona, 1972), Paris flash-back (1978) and El tramvia blau (The Blue Tram, 1985) have the same character, Lluís Martí who bears considerable biographical resemblance to the author. Amongst the prizes and honours he has received are his nomination by the French government as Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 1991, the Generalitat (Autonomous Government) of Catalonia's Saint George Cross in 1997, and the First Prize of the Barcelona Comic Fair in 1998. His work has been published in German, Bulgarian, Castilian, French, Hungarian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian and Czech.
He was an honorary member of Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
