Josep Vicens-i-Planagumà (Barcelona, 1954) studied Sociology at the former Graduate School of Sociology of the Barcelona Provincial Council, as well as Acting and Directing at El Timbal and also the Obrador de la Sala Beckett, both schools in Barcelona. He was a member of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) Library Service staff (1975-2017) and head of the Idac Centre for Alzheimer’s Information and Documentation, Catalonia (1996-2007).
As a member of the Catalan chapter of the International Union of Puppetry (UNIMA), he has worked in theatre, especially in theatre of objects, as well as with actors and has also directed two of his own plays, Sí, em pots trobar, si goses (programmed in the 2013 Year of Espriu in Tortosa), and Pedagogia de la Bellesa. Apologia d'un pedagog excepcional: Joan Salvat i Ferré in Barcelona (2017). He has published in several cultural magazines, and exhibited his work, including the installation El duel (1999) at the invitation of the UAB Art Department, and has created other art installations for library exhibitions, as well as posters, drawings, etcetera, at the same university.
So far, he has published the collections of prose poems, L’Artificier. Poemes en prosa (Pagès Editors, 2021), and De la seducció i del sofriment. Poemes en prosa (Pagès Editors, 2021).
Since 2008 he has published a cultural blog called Dietaris de l’Artificier
He is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
