Miquel Tarradell (Barcelona, 1920 – 1995), Archeologyst and Historian.
Tarradell carried out numerous archeologycal excavations and especialized in the Punic world. In 1956 he became a Professor at the Universitat de València and studied the Calcolithic, the Bronze age and the Iberic and Roman cultures around the Valencian region. From 1970 he was the head Professor of the archeology department the Universitat de Barcelona. His work can be divided in two types: monographies about archeological prospects, mainly published in e
specialized magazines, and compilations and essays about prehistory and archeology in the Catalan speaking territory.
In 1977 he was honored with the "Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes". He was one of the founders of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana.
