Irene Solà (Malla, 1990), an artist and writer is author of Canto jo i la muntanya balla (2019), for which she received the Anagrama Book Prize for the Novel (2019), the 2020 European Union Prize for Literature, and other awards. This book has been translated into some twenty languages. She has also written the poetry collection Bèstia (2012, winner of the 48th Amadeu Oller Prize for unpublished poems) and the novels Els dics (winner of the 37th Documenta Prize), and Et vaig donar ulls i vas mirar les tenebres (2023, Finestres Prize for Catalan Fiction).
Her work is notable for its interplay of perspectives and the influence of tradition and folklore.
She is a member of the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
