Miquel Pueyo París (Lleida, 1957) has a doctorate in Catalan Philology from the University of Lleida. He is the author of a number of publications and scientific articles related with linguistic policy and the sociology of language. He was awarded the 1984 Xarxa Essay Prize for Lleida: ni blancs ni negres, però espanyols (Lleida: Neither White Nor Black but Spanish) and the 1992 Rovira i Virgili Prize for Tres escoles per als catalans. Minorització lingüística i implantació escolar a Itàlia, França i Espanya (Three Schools for Catalans. Linguistic Minoritization and Language Teaching in Italian, French and Spanish Schools). In 2012 he was awarded the Josep Vallverdú Essay Prize with Mors certa, hora incerta. De l'Edat Mitjana a la societat xarxa, co-written with Ernest Benach.
He was director of the Institut d'Estudis Ilerdencs (Institute of Lleida Studies) from 1986 to 1988. From 1988 to 1995 he was a Member of the Parliament of Catalonia. He is presently Secretary of Linguistic Policy in the Government of Catalonia.
He is a member of AELC (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
