Núria Garcia Quera (Barcelona, 1965) has been living in Pallars Sobirà since 1986 and has worked in the mountains for twenty-two years (until 2008) as the guard of a high altitude refuge. She started to write in 1996 and has now published novels, short stories, comic scripts and articles on hiking and geography for publications including Descobrir Catalunya and El mundo de los Pirineos. She has been awarded more than a dozen literary prizes for her work.

Her latest literary endeavour is a collection titled Sensus, a literary project that has enabled her to combine travels, literature and social commitment.

She is a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
