Núria Pradas Andreu

English

Núria Pradas i Andreu (Barcelona, 1954) is a philologist and writer.

Núria Pradas began to write as a teacher of Language and Literature. Hence it is easy to see why her early writings are in the area of young people's literature, a genre in which she has published more than sixty titles, including Lior, Un estiu amb l'Anna, and, more recently, El misteri del carrer de les glicines, Ella, and El cant del cigne.

It was precisely when she was awarded the Carlemany Prize for one of her books in this domain, Sota el mateix cel, that her publisher suggested that she should start writing for adults. Since she enjoys challenges, she embarked on this new adventure.

Her first novel for adults is La noia de la Biblioteca (Columna, 2014), which was followed by Somnis a mida (Columna, 2016), L'aroma del temps (Rosa dels vents, 2018), Tota una vida per recordar (Columna, 2020), and La vida secreta de la Sylvia Nolan (Columna, 2022).

Her title Tota una vida per recordar received the 2020 Ramon Llull Prize.

Pradas says, "I wouldn't be able to say whether I live by writing or write by living. But I can say that writing is my life."

She is a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC – Association of Catalan Language Writers).
