Rosa M. Isart i Margarit (Barcelona, 1970) is a theatre journalist, playwright and occasional poet. She studied Law and History of Art at the University of Barcelona. She has taken several courses including an Audiovisual Narrative Course directed by Joan Marimon Padrosa (University of Barcelona, July 2002), a Master Class by Fabrice Melquiot in the Romea Foundation (May, 2004) and a Master Class by Patricia Zangaro (Teatro x la Identidad) in La Casona (October 2005). She is a member of the Association of Catalan Language Writers (AELC), of the Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE) and of the Association for Research and Experimentation in Theatre (AIET), which is linked with the University of Barcelona. She has written articles about theatre in the review Entreacte of the Associació d'Actors i Directors Professionals de Catalunya (Association of Professional Actors and Directors of Catalonia – and the regional publication Gent del Masnou.
In chronological order, she has written the following plays: Vainilla (Vanilla, 1998; winner of the Joaquim M. Bartrina Prize 2000, one of the city of Reus prizes; publication: 2001), Underground (Sota terra) (2000), El petit arbre (The Little Tree – children’s theatre, 2001), Lleons (Aigua, tocat o enfonsat) [Lions (Water, Touched or Drowned), 2001 – a comedy; dramatised reading, 2007], Senyoreta Ella (Miss Ella, 2001; publication: 2005), No es preocupi (Don’t Worry, 2002; publication: 2005), Benet, venduto, vendetta (2004 – a comedy), Les mil i una (A Thousand and One, 2005 – political satire; dramatised reading, 2005), Pa(r)ís (Teatro x la Identidad Catalunya, 2006), La carmanyola del dilluns (Monday's lunchbox – children’s short theatre, 2006, publication: 2006), Tendències (Tendencies – 2008, publication: 2010), Paumanok (short theatre, 2008, publication: 2008), La bola (The ball, 2015), China Girl (short theatre, 2017), L’etrusca (2018).
She is a member of AELC (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
