Núria Farràs i Giol

Núria Farràs i Giol (Barcelona, 1974) is a writer, Catalan proofreader, translator from Spanish to Catalan, publisher, and mentor of writers. Although she was born in Barcelona, she has spent most of her life in L'Ametlla del Vallès, where she currently resides.

In 1999 she graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Barcelona and, in 2018, completed a postgraduate course in Catalan Editing and Linguistic Adaptation at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, From 2009 to 2020 she took several training courses in writing, professional reading, and editing in such schools as the Barcelona Athenaeum, the Historias Donde Vivo school for publishers and writers, and the Sandra Bruna literary agency.

She is author of L'Ametlla del Vallès com mai l'has vist (2023), El fin del mundo nos pilló desprevenidas (2020), and L'herència inesperada (2019) as well as publishing children's stories in the Cavall Fort magazine and regular articles for the cultural supplement Amíndola of the Diari de l'Ametlla, which is published in L'Ametlla del Vallès. She has won several awards around the country for her short stories and poems.

Núria Farràs is one of the founders of the publishing house Editorial Intrèpida, where she works as an editor. She gives mentoring support to authors who are in the process of writing novels, as well as giving talks on the profession of proofreading, on writing, and about the publishing world.

She is a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (Association of Catalan Language Writers – AELC), of the Spanish Reproduction Rights Centre (CEDRO), and the Proofreaders Union (UniCo).
