Àngel-O. Brunet i Las (Tarragona, 1964) studied Directing and Script-writing and has a Masters’ Degree in Literary and Audiovisual Language. He has written the scripts of a number of short films and, among other prizes, has been awarded the Serra i Moret Prize for Script-writing (1988).
He made his debut in the narrative field with the novel Taüt de naftalina, seda i cotó (Coffin of Naphthalene, Silk and Cotton) which has been followed by other works, some of them prize-winning. Among the awards he has received are the 1988 Sebastià Juan Arbó Prize for L’apocalipsi segons Macintosh (The Apocalypse According to Macintosh), the 1999 Pin i Soler Narrative Prize for Contra Mendacium. El misteri dels còdexs màgins (Contra Mendacium: The Mystery of the Magi Codices) and the 2001 Vila de Ametlla de Mar Prize for Els llavis amb el polze (Lips with the Thumb). In the domain of children’s and young people's literature, he has published Terratarragona i l’univers (Tarragonaland and the Universe, 2001).
He is a member of AELC (Association of Catalan Language Writers).
